Medical Education
The St Luke's Radiology team have an international reputation for teaching musculoskeletal ultrasound examination techniques. Our radiologists and clinicians organise residential skills courses for clinicians, radiologists, sonographers and physiotherapists in Oxford, Bath and Birmingham. We are aware that the skills obtained require refinement and practice with supervision. As a consequence we now offer tailored tuition in small groups or individually. These sessions may be half a day or longer. We can provide teaching in our facilities in Oxford with patients who are prepared to be examined by those under tuition. We will arrange for the latest ultrasound machines to be available and can provide equipment from the delegates preferred supplier so that they may learn on familiar apparatus. Alternatively we can bring portable machines to the delegates own clinic to teach and supervise in their own practice. This education process is linked to a Diploma in MSK Ultrasound and an MSc course that we have developed in collaboration with the University of Bath. The Skills courses, on line education and small group supervised practice sessions form the basis of this accredited education.
